.radio festival

Listening to radio is everyone’s number one wireless fantasy, but it’s time to switch to airplane mode. After months of hard work, we present .radio festival, our special offline get-together for everyone who’s passionate about online radio as a means to discover new music.

The event kicks off with a radio market, for which we are joined by colleague radio stations across Europe, as well as radio-making workshops for everyone who’s interested in starting their own station or start curating. In-between, there will be panel talks with radiomakers who have put their mark on the radio landscape. Finally, we’ll end the festival with radio-focused club sets by those same radiomakers, as well an extensive list of Radio TNP residents. Throughout the night, you’ll find yourself exploring new types of music without having to wait for the 10th drop or beats to match.

Join the offline rodeo radio ride.

Radio market: 18:00 - 22:00

At the center of .radio festival is an engaging radio market, for which we’re joined by colleague radio stations Dublab (Berlin), Radio Sofa (Paris) and Stranded FM (Utrecht). Meet your favorite radio station and the people behind it. Explore their projects, merch and potential opportunities for collaboration. While the radio market is happening, residents Charmaine and Kimchi Radio are providing your ears with the best selections!

Panel talk: 19:00 - 20:00

How significant can radio be for an artist’s career, the cultural scene and as a means for community building? What is the impact of radio on night life and the wider musical landscape? Well, let’s hear it from some iconic radiomakers themselves! At .radio festival, we’ll be discussing these topics with our amazing panel of Coco Maria, FAUZIA, Nosedrip, Ondula and Rebecca Vasmant.

Not only will they answer your questions during the panel, but also provide meaningful insights for anyone curious to dabble in online radio. Let them inspire you with their stories the same way they have inspired us in what we do as Radio TNP.

Workshops:

Do you want to expand your knowledge about (running) online radiostations? We got you! During .radio festival on the 11th of January, there will be two workshops for a limited number of participants. The format is interactive, so feel free to bring a list of question you’d like to get answered.

How to start your own online radio station - the technology, costs and roles behind it.
Time: 18:15 till 19:00
RSVP via the ticket page and secure your spot (limited to 20 spots)

What does it take to start and run an online radio station? In this workshop, we'll dive deeper into what technologies are available for you to broadcast your first show online. What are the costs for running an online radio station and how can you cover these? No station runs without a solid team, so perhaps the most important question we'll try to answer is: what kind of roles do you need to fill in order to maintain consistency?

Making a positive impact on the world with an online radio platform.
Time: 21:15 till 22:00
RSVP via the ticket page and secure your spot (limited to 20 spots)

Online radio stations are musical playgrounds for both upcoming and established talent. But anyone who has been closely following the established platforms like NTS, Kiosk Radio or Radio TNP will agree that these platforms represent much more. In this workshop, we'll discuss how online radio platforms can make a positive impact on the world. First, we'll look at examples of impactful projects done by radio stations across the world. Then, we'll collect themes of societal issues/challenges according to the audience. Finally, we'll formulate mission statements from these themes and translate these into impactful campaigns linked to radio.
